Sami McIntosh
Gift of Life Campus Ambassador
(2020)

During my freshman year at CU, I had the opportunity to recruit people for Gift of Life, an organization that connects leukemia patients with bone marrow donors. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, reaching out to so many people was initially scary. However, I quickly realized that advocating for such a good cause made it worthwhile. It taught me the importance of stepping outside my comfort zone to pursue something I'm passionate about. This experience in leadership empowered me to make a meaningful impact and taught me valuable lessons in resilience and the transformative power of passion.
Restaurant
Working (2019-Present)

From the age of 16, I immersed myself in the dynamic world of the restaurant industry, taking on various roles like host, server, food runner, and bartender. Through these experiences, I've come to realize that leadership can thrive in any position. The importance of supporting others in the fast-paced restaurant environment cannot be overstated, as teamwork is extremely important in these environments. This industry has honed my people skills and boosted my confidence in forming quick connections. In my current role, where I've been for two years, I take pride in guiding new team members and helping them navigate their first day with assurance.
Living in Barcelona (2023)

During my junior year of college, I embarked on a life-changing journey to study abroad in Barcelona. Initially, I found myself overwhelmed a bit scared of the unknown around me. However, this experience became a start for my profound journey of self-discovery. It ignited a passion within me for connecting with new people and exploring diverse cultures. I became captivated by the art of uncovering individuals' life stories and personal narratives. These encounters with remarkable individuals made every moment worthwhile and unveiled my own capacity for leadership. They taught me to push beyond my perceived limits and embrace the transformative power of self-motivation.
G7 Marketing Internship Experience (2023)

As an intern at G7 Marketing, my first experience into the corporate world, I found myself in a unique and overwhelming position as the only remote intern. Working for G7 exposed me to a diverse range of clients, including notable brands like Liquid Death, Pringles, and renowned music festivals like Pitchfork. This experience taught me the importance of embracing significant adjustments throughout my career and the value of stepping into unfamiliar territory. It was a humbling reminder that I don't always have to have all the answers and that growth comes from being open to trying new things.

Camp Counselor (2018)
At 15, I began my first job as a camp counselor for girls entering high school. Guiding them through the nerve-racking transition into independence, I embraced the role of a leader, ensuring their safety and supporting their transition. This initial experience taught me valuable lessons: not everything goes according to plan, being a constant leader can be challenging, and sometimes I need guidance too. Being a leader is a continuous and enlightening learning journey.
